JUNIOR TOP SEEDS ANNOUNCED
Lansing, Michigan - Top seeds have been set at the 2006 U.S. Junior Olympic Racquetball Championships this week at the Michigan Athletic Club. The event is presented by Penn Racquet Sports and sponsored by Head Racquetball. Nearly 250 junior players from all over the United States will be competing in 78 divisons of singles and doubles for boys and girls. This event is also a U.S. Junior National Team qualifier as one year appointments will be up for grabs by top finishers in the 18 & under, 16 & under, and 14 & under Gold divisions. The event will also server as qualifer for the USA Junior Espirit Team. The Espirit Team represents the USA at the World Championships every year in December. The top seeds in the girls singles divisions were published on the drawsheets with top honors going to, #1 Erika Manilla (Centennial, CO)-Girls 6/8 Multi-Bounce, #1 Abbey Lavely (Cuyahoga Falls, OH) Girls 10-, #1 Samantha Rosado (Meriden, CT) Girls 12-, #1 Danielle Key (Gilbert, AZ) Girls 14-, #1 Sharon Jackson (Shelbyville, IN) Girls 16-, #1 Kara Mazur (Avon, CT) Girls 18-. All of the top seeds look strong and should have no problems advancing to the next round.
Look for some upsets in the Boys 16- and Boys 18 - divisions.
The boys will feature the nations best such as, #1 Adam Manilla (Centennial, CO) Boys 10-, #1 Marcos Rojas (Stockton, CA) Boys 12-, #1 Bradley Kirch (Syracuse, NY) Boys 14-, #1 Ismael Aldana (Stockton, CA) Boys 16-, #1 Chris Coy (Elk City, OK) Boys 18-.
